This document details the terms on which My Butterfly affect would be happy to support you. We would like for you to understand that is my goal to achieve the best possible outcome together with all my clients.
Advice or Recommendations written or verbally are given in good faith and it is always YOUR decision whether you want/wish to keep possessions or not to keep possessions. My Butterfly affect cannot accept any responsibility for the consequences of such decisions.
Possessions of high market value or of sentimental value alike will be handled with extreme care. It is important within our service commitment contract that these are detailed in – case of damages. My Butterfly Affect has full – public liability insurance.
Your acknowledgement that I am not a value expert, nor do I have expertise to identify items of special value or rarity, nor am I qualified to advice on valuation matters for insurance purposes
Recycling or Charity Donation
Recycling will be a charity of your choice initially, if you do not have a charity of your choice, My Butterfly Affect are happy to donate these on your behalf. We will provide you with a list of registered charities. Items removed from your location, premises, for disposal or to other locations must be at your own discretion. Disposal will not take place without your authorisation verbally, signed/ written. I do not hold any special licences removal of waste from your property or business property. I am happy to make suggestions about the disposal of unnecessary or unwanted items, and clutter in general, and sort through such material with you.
When handling goods belonging to you the client I will take great care in looking after them. However with all best efforts in doing so unfortunately, accidents may occur. I shall not be liable for losses or damage howsoever caused. I will rely on you to carry out insurance at all times that adequately compensates you for losses or damages howsoever caused by My Butterfly Affect staff in my capacity as your Professional Organiser
I hold a public liability and professional indemnity insurance of £1 million.
Limitations of work
My Butterfly Affect will support you to achieve the state of organisation and tidiness you desire. We are happy to help you with LIGHT cleaning (wiping shelves, cupboards) vacuuming (areas of de-cluttering, cupboards) We are happy to help you relocate items to more appropriate physical locations. However I prefer not to attempt any seriously heavy moving (e.g. a refrigerator, display cupboards, big beds, wardrobes).
Post Natal errands or Physical, Mental Medical Health
Post natal errands may include anything (with in reason, and proportionate) that supports the female after she has given birth. This can include a trip to the local supermarket, collection of prescriptions, advice or recommendations. This does not cover physical, medical, or mental examination or information as I am not trained to provide these expertise.
I can support you in signposting or any previous knowledge that could related to my previous professional career history but this also is not legally binding advice and I would encourage you to get current professional advice and assistance.
Hazards, Health and Safety
I will reserve the right to withdraw from the project or cease the project if I perceive unsafe working conditions. Endangering staffs’ physical health and well-being. If indoors the nature of my work may require to open doors and windows for ventilation or due to weather conditions (hot weather) or staff feeling warm when working.
If you engage me to work at a particular location and access is restricted, I reserve the right to charge for the lost time and my expenses.
We live in a society where allergies are of the norm, and it will be best practice that on commencing any work in your space that this is disclosed. Any information disclosed will be confidential.
Pets or Children
We would ask if all pets big or small to be contained in a safe place for the purposes of staff and the safety of animals. Due to the nature of our work, things could cause harm to your pets if they are in traffic areas of where staff work.
Children (under 18) should be supervised by adults at all times as above staff will be undertaking work that could cause harm to your children in high traffic areas.
Hours of work
You will be charged for hours actually worked for Gold, Silver or Bronze packages. You will be charged for any additional services ordered or booked. Whilst booking or discussing on the telephone or in person consultation.
It is understood that it is not always possible to anticipate exactly how long will be needed. For example a “bronze” package selected of eight hours on booking which turns out to involve seven hours work will therefore be charged for seven hours than eight. If my services take longer than anticipated I will talk to you during the session and we agree together what is best to do.
Breaks and refreshments
If a session covers lunchtime, I’ll bring my own lunch with me. We’ll need to break occasionally for a few minutes – I’m happy to pause every two hours or so, but if you wish to stop more often (de-cluttering is physically and emotionally demanding) that’s fine. I won’t charge you for long (e.g. lunch) breaks.
Travel is included within the packages and core service hours. For all appointments travel over 40 miles will incur a travel charge per mile (at the current rate)
Shopping online or in person
My Butterfly Affect will carry out shopping on your behalf if selected as an additional service. Please take note that I hold no responsibility of waiting times or delivery times in purchasing items online or in person for clients. I will endeavour to provide courtesy call or text to let you know of the circumstance. It is your responsibility to enquire further as you are the account holder or the named person for monies paying of goods. I will only be handling money and providing receipts if required. My Butterfly Affect will take a copy of receipts of proof of purchase. All goods handled will be handled in a sensitive and confidential nature.
Telephone consultations are free for a minimum of 30 minutes and maximum of 60 minutes. In person consultations will be charged at £25.00, minimum of 30 minutes maximum of 80 minutes this will be deducted from any core services or packages selected. Virtual consultations free 30 minute maximum telephone consultation. Face to face Skype calls £15.00, 40 minutes maximum.
Excess mileage or Expenses
Mileage over the specified geographical 40 mile radius from My Butterfly Affect business address. This will be made clear before the booking is accepted.
Some jobs lasting longer than a day may involve further expenses in addition to our service charges and travel charges. Such further expenses will not be incurred without the prior approval of the customer.
Travel charges (exceeds 40 miles) or further expenses paid in advance for which I cannot obtain refunds are not refundable in any circumstances, and will be invoiced to you at the time of cancellation.
Both you and I have the right to cancel the contract due to unforeseen circumstances. If you are able to give me at least 48 hours notice we can re-schedule our appointment. In the event of part of the package or core service cancellation by the customer, less than 48-hours before the agree start time, I will charge 50% of the total agreed estimated package or core service.
If I need to cancel our agreement for any reason, I will let you know as soon as possible and I will endeavour to re-schedule the assignment to a date convenient to both parties. If this is not possible or if it is unacceptable to you, I will refund your deposit in FULL.
Confidentiality and Privacy
My Butterfly Affect is a professional service that would never divulge any information to third parties or anyone. Due to the nature of my work when de-cluttering this is usually unavoidable.
I never divulge client information to third parties, nor any personal or business details that I may see in the course of my work (which, when de-cluttering, is generally unavoidable).
Marketing / Reviews/ Questionnaires
It would be helpful and best practice for My Butterfly Affect to be able to give examples to other clients or within our portfolio of how situations can be problem solved.
Before and After Photography/ Video footage
If in agreement I would also like to take before and after photography for marketing and training purposes for my website or social media platforms. All material taken would be automatically anonymised to protect customers right to privacy. Explicit permission will be requested either verbally on the telephone (then sent by email), in person consultation, or after the project.
Questionnaire will be used within any consultation between My Butterfly Affect and the customer. We will only use this to gain better knowledge and understanding of the space / environment that has been assessed, this will help us to refer back to this when setting goals maintaining the goals or any follow up appointments.
Opting in Opting out: You have the right to opt in or out of this request this will be required to be given in writing (email) within 14 days period
My Butterfly Affect has an exciting referral scheme which we would ask at the commencing or ending of the project to take part in. We thrive on ensuring that our services cab reach all members of our community to really help people in need to regain their precious time. We offer a surprise complimentary gift (selected by My Butterfly Affect) of either a “free 2 hours” (deducted from 4 core service hours) or a retail gift voucher.
My Butterfly Affects luxury packages of Gold, Silver or Bronze will give a complimentary thank you gift for purchasing our services. This could include food produce in which full dietary or allergy information will be clearly documented. Even if you are provided with this gift that includes food produce you do have the right not to consume this or to opt out of the complimentary gift.
Payment will be paid 50% on booking the agreed scope of work and 50% on completion of agreed scope of work. 50% of work completed will be paid within 14 working days.
Any additional work or costs that are not covered in the agreement signed up within the contract will be charged separately. Any additional work charged will need to be paid within 14 working days of completion.
Charges for my services will be charged per hour. Flat rate is £60 per hour. Payment methods: All payments can be made by cash, cheque (made payable to Stefanie Spence, My Butterfly Affect Home and Lifestyle), Paypal (safest way to use on the internet) or direct bank transfer (details provided on invoice). All payments will be provided with receipts and invoices.
To secure my services a deposit of 25% of the total cost quoted for the assignment is required. If I do not receive this deposit within 14 days of the date of the attached letter, and no later than three days before the start of the assignment, I may withdraw from our agreement.
All charges shall be payable on invoice. Interest at 9% per month will be charged on any balance due which remains unpaid 45 days after initial agreed invoice due date.
Will be provided by text, telephone, email, FaceTime(IPhone) or Skype. This service will provide the same customer care and one to one support.
Services for your packages can be selected from our “additional services” on our website or brochure. ALL of our terms, conditions and privacy policies still remain.
My Butterfly Affect is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.
My Butterfly Affect may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from [01.01.2018].
What we collect

We will respond within 72 hours (3 working days) and reply with confirmation.
We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
